2002 Iditarod Mushers
In this year's Iditarod, there were 64 mushers who participated in the race. The top 30 got cash prizes.(See 2002 Cash Prize Winners) 25 of the other mushers finished the race. The rest of the mushers scratched during the race for various reasons.

Mushing in the Iditarod is Hard Work
Mushers that sign up for the Iditarod know that there is a challenge in store for them. They will have to mush across a trail of Alaskan terrain that is over 1,000 miles long. They can't just round up dogs and start the race, they must train their dog team, as well as themselves to be prepared for this exciting adventure.(See Training for the Iditarod)
